Neymar could leave PSG in 2022 as Al-Khelaifi reportedly disappointed in him

PSG are open to letting Neymar leave the club this summer. The Brazilian has been unable to help them out in the Champions League, which is the primary reason behind his arrival in the French capital.

He remains the most expensive player in the history of football, making a €222 million move from Barcelona in 2017. He is one of the highest earners in the team as well, but has been unable to establish himself as the main focus of the project at the club.

Neymar could be headed for PSG exit this summer

PSG would consider offers for Neymar but expecting it to be easier to sell mid range players (Icardi/Gueye/Danilo etc).

PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has been left disappointed by the outcome of his ambitious transfer. And as a result, he is willing to let the 30-year-old leave if a suitable offer arrives. But, with three years remaining on Neymar’s current deal, they cannot force him out of the club.

Neymar has only played 35 Champions League games since joining them, providing 20 goals and 14 assists. Out of those 34 goal involvements, only eight have come in the knockout rounds. In contrast, Kylian Mbappe has played 44 UCL games for the club since 2017, recording 27 goals and 23 assists. And he has been able to turn up individually in the difficult stages, such as this past year against Real Madrid, even though they were eliminated.

The Brazil international has been linked with an exit from PSG before, with Barcelona being the most likely destination. But due to their financial problems, it is impossible for him to go there anymore. So, a new club must come with a decent offer for the player if he is to leave this summer.
