Brazil and PSG star Neymar has surprisingly talked about the upcoming 2022 World Cup in Qatar being his last World Cup with Brazil. The winger is currently 30 and will be 34 by the time USA, Canada and Mexico host the tournament for the first time in 2026.

Neymar is en route to becoming the top scorer for Brazil and South America. He recently competed in the 2014 and 2018 World Cups with six goals.

‘I think it’s my last World Cup,’ the 29-year-old told DAZN during the making of ‘Neymar & The Line Of Kings’, an exclusive new documentary.

‘I see it as my last because I don’t know if I have the strength of mind to deal with football any more.

‘So I’ll do everything to turn up well, do everything to win with my country, to realise my greatest dream since I was little. And I hope I can do it.’

The Confederations Cup is the only trophy that Neymar has lifted with Brazil apart from the gold medal in the Rio de Janeiro Olympics in 2016. This year, Neymar was a part of the Brazil squad that lost to Argentina in the finals of the Copa America. And with the loss, his quest for another major trophy with Brazil as part of the squad continues.

Neymar has currently 69 goals for the national team, and is only seven eight goals behind the legendary Pele’s record for the national team.
