Mykhaylo Mudryk has emerged as one of the top young talents in Europe over the last couple of months. On the back of Russia’s invasion of his native Ukraine, and the winter not being able to play professionally due to being signed to Shakhtar Donetsk.
Arsenal have been strongly linked with his signature during the January transfer window. However, Newcastle United could overtake the Gunners in the pursuit of the 21-year-old.

Due to his skill and deceptive strength, he has been likened to PSG superstar Neymar, and has also been dubbed the ‘Ukrainian Neymar‘ as a result. Last season, he was named the man of the match when Shakhtar were able to overcome Real Madrid at the Bernabeu, with the player receiving a standing ovation.
During the summer transfer window, Arsenal were linked with a £25 million offer for the talented winger. However, the transfer fell through and he is now impressing in European competition with Shakhtar.
Mudryk scored and assisted two as Shakhtar overcame RB Leipzig during the first matchday of the Champions League, by a 4-1 scoreline.
It now remains to be seen whether Newcastle United can get the deal over the line in the coming months, since the Ukrainian is bound to be one of the top talents in the world soon.
