# New Volkswagen Tiguan unveiled: One of the best SUVs of VW

The new [Volkswagen Tiguan](https://technosports.co.in/?s=Volkswagen+Tiguan&post_type=post)‘s development closely mirrored that of the most recent Passat sedan sold outside of the United States, with which it shares a platform and many of its upgraded digital and connectivity features, including the most recent version of VW’s MIB infotainment platform and a new over-the-air software update capability.

The third-generation Tiguan’s new cabin, which has a fresher appearance, more upscale materials, better technology, and more space than its predecessor, is where the biggest upgrades are found.

Talking about engines it comes with a new 19.7kWh battery that has been added to the Tiguan’s updated plug-in hybrid powertrain, allowing it to operate entirely on electricity for up to 62 miles (100 km). With a 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine, it can generate somewhat more than 200 or slightly less than 270 horsepower. The Tiguan eTSI’s combined range, according to VW, is 621 miles.

The extensively restyled [Volkswagen](https://www.volkswagen.co.in/en.html) Tiguan measures 4,539mm long, 1,639mm tall (without roof rails), and 1,842mm wide—30mm longer, 4mm higher, and the same breadth as its well-liked predecessor. Its wheelbase, which is 2,680mm, is likewise unchanged from before.

Similar to the newest Passat and ID 7, the infotainment display has a lighted slider controller. The touchscreen air-conditioning controls are incorporated into the lower area of the new MIB4 digital menu layout, which is also adopted by this vehicle.

It has a dashboard that has been completely overhauled, with a new control matrix, illuminated trim pieces, and air vents with a fresh appearance. It supports a central touchscreen infotainment display that is 12.9 inches in size as standard or 15.0 inches in upgraded form, as well as a 10.3-inch digital instrument display.

Although VW is currently selling the Tiguan in India, it is unknown if they would also export the newest SUV to our country.
