We have seen plenty of rumours and leaks about the upcoming successor of the Nintendo Switch, the Nintendo Switch Pro. However, Nintendo released a new member of its Nintendo family, but it’s a non-pro Switch.

Nintendo recently announced its new Nintendo Switch OLED and that it won’t have a new CPU or more memory. The company also said that the brand-new OLED dock would be sold separately.

Yesterday, the company finally announced its new Switch model, which is the Nintendo Switch OLED. It will feature a 7-inch OLED display and will have an increased internal storage capacity, and that’s it. There are no major internal changes to the platform’s hardware; at least Nintendo didn’t mention it during the release. But it made one thing clear that the new model will not feature important internal changes to the memory or processor.

“Nintendo Switch (OLED model) does not have a new CPU, or more RAM, from previous Nintendo Switch models,” stated a Nintendo spokesperson.

However, it’s not just the doubled internal storage capacity and new OLED display; the new model also comes with a redesigned dock with a built-in wired LAN port.

“The white dock and black dock will be sold separately (no HDMI cable, no AC adaptor, not in a package) on the Nintendo online store. It will not be sold at retail.”

The new system features a vibrant 7-inch OLED screen, a wide adjustable stand, a dock with a wired LAN port, 64 GB of internal storage, and enhanced audio.
