When the series premiered in September 2021, it excelled language barriers and became Netflix’s most-watched series ever. Squid Game had the lot: a gripping premise, captivating presentations, and a plot that only became more sinister as the show progressed. “I am required to create a story that will be immersive. Furthermore, I hunted the viewers who watch Squid Game start inquisitive themselves,” creator Hwang Dong-hyuk told The Hollywood Reporter. “How remain I living my life? Who am I among these characters, then what kind of world am I living in? I wanted these queries to be asked.”

Most of our favorite characters are deceased in Season 1. It is easier to visualize Squid Game with the loves of Park Hae-soo’s Sang-woo than Jung Hoyeon’s Kang Sae-book, but we take no choice. On June 17 at Tudum: A Global Fan Event, Netflix public a cast declaration video for Squid Game Season 2. Sure, we all saw that Lee Jung-jae’s main character Seong Gi-hun, aka Player 456, would be back for another round of death games. However, this video exposed the new players also opposing their lives.

Lee Byung-hun will return using the Front Man, while Wi Ha-jun will return through Hwang Jun-ho. The latter is a pleasant surprise since the last time we saw Jun-ho, he was potshot by his brother, the Front Man, besides falling off a cliff. Moreover, Squid Game fans will be thrilled to absorb that Gong Yoo, who appeared only briefly in Season 1, is also returning.

The video also familiarizes new players: Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Sung-hoon, and Yang Dong-Geun, all journalists with the green button that specifies the game. We have yet to learn about their characters.

On June 28, Netflix revealed the rest of Squid Game Season 2’s cast. They contain Park Gyu-young, Jo Yu-ri, besides Kang Ae-shim. Also assembled are the cast: Lee David, Lee Jin-uk, Choi Seung-Hyun, Roh Jae-won, and Won Ji-an. Here is a look at the newly publicized stars.
