## What Is Flunked About?

Meet **Eddy** — a street-smart math prodigy and small-time conman who gets caught and offered a deal he can’t refuse: go undercover as a high school teacher for **three weeks**, identify the child of a criminal mastermind hiding among the students, and help the police track him down — or go to jail.

It sounds like the setup for a chaotic, fast-talking [French comedy](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/French_humour) — and that’s precisely the appeal. Creator **François Uzan**, who helped co-write the early seasons of *Lupin*, actually went undercover himself in real high schools to research this show, ensuring the teaching environment feels authentic even as the story goes brilliantly off the rails.

The series blends high school drama, thriller tension, genuine social commentary about the reality of modern teaching, and sharp comedic moments — a tonal balancing act that Uzan clearly has the experience to pull off. ## Flunked : The Cast

**Alexandre Kominek**, a rising Swiss stand-up comedian known for his hit show *Bâtard Sensible*, leads the series as Eddy — described by the director as an Eddie Murphy-type charming hustler with the gift of gab. He’s joined by acclaimed comedian **Laurence Arné** as the tenacious cop guiding Eddy through his mission, and **Leslie Medina** as the school principal who also happens to be Eddy’s former flame.

The rich supporting cast includes **Sabrina Ouazani** (*The Hook-Up Plan*), **Fred Testot**, **Mathilde Seigner**, and several other familiar French faces — making this an ensemble comedy with real depth behind the laughs.
