What happens when a mild-mannered man wakes up one morning and discovers something monstrous lurking inside him? That’s the unsettling core of **Alpha**, Netflix’s upcoming horror film — and honestly, the premise alone is enough to make your skin crawl in the best way possible.

## Alpha Plot: Wall Street Meets Werewolf Horror

Set in the financial heart of London, **Alpha** follows **Petey** — an American expat who has everything on paper yet feels invisible in practice. Emasculated at work, overlooked at home, unable to start a family, and constantly overshadowed by his arrogant boss Jackson — Petey is a pressure cooker with no release valve.

Then one night, everything changes. After bolting from his home in a fugue state and collapsing in a park, Petey wakes up fundamentally *different*. Suddenly magnetic, fearless, and dominant, he overhauls his marriage, pulls off a daring boardroom coup, and makes millions on a risky trade. But this transformation comes with a terrifying cost — a primal, monstrous hunger that drives him into London’s streets after dark.

The film has already been compared to a fusion of *An American Werewolf in London* and *American Psycho* — two cult classics that blended body horror with sharp social commentary. If *Alpha* lives up to that comparison, it could be one of the most talked-about horror films Netflix has ever produced.

## Taron Egerton: The Perfect Choice for This Role

[Taron Egerton](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taron_Egerton) is building a remarkable Netflix relationship. After his blockbuster performance in *Carry-On* — one of the most-watched Netflix films ever — he’s already set to return in *Apex* alongside Charlize Theron and Eric Bana in April 2026. *Alpha* would be his third Netflix outing, cementing him as the streamer’s go-to leading man for high-concept thrillers.

The role of Petey demands a performer who can convincingly portray both crushing vulnerability and terrifying dominance — Egerton’s range makes him ideal for exactly that kind of transformation arc.
