After pandemic situations, all of us used to live within four walls of our houses, and for entertainment, we have chosen OTT platforms just like Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Hotstar as all become the only source of entertainment for a living.

The regional OTT industry raised, and we have seen the birth of the native language coming as players just like HoiChoi, aha, un NYX, Planet Marathi, Kode, and City Short TV.

The reports confirm, that the regional OTT players also have already made 50% along with the OTT market within 3-4 years. Kaiser is the homicide detective trying to deal with the double murders with his inside demons, and there are three Roses with young girls who are in their middle age to be married due to the complex Indian juxtaposition. There are also blockbuster topics on the web series, you will get them on HoiChoi and Aha.

OTT

Beyond regional cinema that’s taking over Bollywood, there is a silent revolution is happening from where regional OTTs a just taking away the eyeballs of Indian just offering them quality content.

The new report from FICCI-EY, confirms that the share just consumed on OTT platforms may cross 50% by 2025 from the 30% share it has held in 2019.

The CEO of the Telugu OTT platform, Ajit Thakur just said, “The regional OTT market today maybe is 50% already of the total market size in India containing all of the regional languages. It is set to grow faster than Hindi for sure,”

The interesting fact is the OTT that just putting one movie each week crossed 10 million monthly active users in two years. The app just revealed 30 million downloads. It has made $2 million in non-subscription revenue in just the last six months and also considering gaming for the platform.

Aha also aims at the Tamil audience and got the people’s hearts to speak the fourth most spoken language.

Price Point

The price offers are more attractive than the content like it’s akin to subscribing to a  regional  TV channel pack as opposed to the full range along with all the categories, and just offering all of the languages like Netflix, Prime Video, Disney Hotstar.

HoiChoi has eased the subscription along with syndication deals along with mainstream OTT players like MX player and Amazon prime. HoiChoi now aims to capture the 250 million Bengali speakers all over the world.

The co-founder of the Bengali streaming platform said, “the Generic OTT market has frowned at least 30-50% over the year and we have all outplaced the industrial fails the margin we have got 120 odd-show, in addition to about 60-70 movies. In fact, April, May, and June were bigger than COVID months for us.” Mehta also shows that it’s just ‘getting started’.

“I see a stable growth trajectory for the next five years,” Planet Marathi named as the acters to Marathi-speaking audiences India and abord. Akshay Badarpur said, “It has launched 13 Planet Marathi originals and has another 24 planned out over the next year. Our viewership comes from India and across the world. There has been an increase in the stickiness of the content, with time spent by users increasing almost 350% after Raanbaazaar’s release.”

Modern Loved Hyderabad is the best example that has an original Telugu show just dubbed with five languages containing Hindu and English for those who desired to catch the flavor of the series. Zee5 also makes triplet its investment into regional content, now Netflix is also looking deeper for catching the flavor of the series with their languages. It’s very difficult to control regional languages as India has 121 official languages and 19,500 mother tongues.

A big thanks for the source.
