Grab the popcorn, because Netflix has struck again. Fresh off a string of Aussie TV acquisitions, the streamer has snapped up global rights (Australia excluded) to **[Caper Crew](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt38058028/)**, the ABC’s breakout family comedy that’s already got audiences hooked Down Under.

If you love a good heist story wrapped in family chaos, this one’s about to land on your watchlist — and honestly, the premise alone is worth the hype.

## What’s the Story?

*Caper Crew* follows siblings Amelia and Kai Delaney, whose ordinary lives flip upside down when their grandmother Queenie — a lifelong con artist — starts teaching them the tricks of the trade. Cue a treasure hunt for the priceless Woodspring Nugget, run-ins with real-deal grifters, and one terrifying school canteen lady named Gretchen.

The series takes inspiration from the real 1960s “Kangaroo Gang,” a band of Australian con artists who pulled off jewelry heists across Europe — you can read more about organized theft crews like this on Wikipedia’s jewel thieves category.
