Netflix iOS App Now Lets Users Download Entire TV Seasons in One Tap

The streaming service Netflix has rolled out a one-tap download feature for a whole TV season in its iPhone and iPad apps. Now more than 3 years later, Apple device owners will finally get the feature in a new rollout, as it was originally released for Android users all the way back in 2021.

Until now, iPhone/iPad users had to download each episode of a TV show by itself for offline watching, a laborious and infuriating process. This is especially significant considering that before the update, users had to maneuver onto each episode to download to the device. Netflix will add that little download button next to the Share button on a show’s display page, so you can start downloading a whole season with one tap.

Users can manage their downloads through the “My Downloads” section, found under the “My Profile” tab at the bottom right corner of the app’s home page. Here, they’re able to monitor and manage each downloaded episode individually. To use this feature, iPhone and iPad users need to follow these simple steps: First, they need to update the Netflix app to the latest version. Then, they can visit the TV show they’d like to download, choose the season they’d like to download from the drop-down menu, and tap on the “Download Season [season number]” option next to the Share and Rate buttons.

Or they can tap the Download button below the Play button under the season’s trailer to download the chosen season instead of downloading individual episodes, as before. This feature comes shortly after Netflix raised its subscription prices in some countries, including the US, Canada, Argentina, and Portugal. However, the prices in India remain unchanged, with Netflix subscriptions starting at ₹149 per month for the Mobile plan, ₹199 for the Basic plan, ₹499 for the Standard plan, and ₹649 for the Premium plan.
