Fancy a nostalgia binge? Netflix Canada is leaning hard into television history this October, adding a big slate of American classics from the 1950s to the 1980s. Licensed comfort shows keep finding an audience, and this drop is a good example.

### Why This Drop Matters?

Newer originals dominate the charts, but old favourites still pull viewers in. Netflix is reportedly hoping other regions will follow with similar catalogues later, so Canadian subscribers may get a first look.

### Twilight Zone: October Release Calendar

| Date | Show | Seasons | Vibe |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Oct 5 | Gunsmoke | 1-14 | Classic Western |
| Oct 12 | Bewitched | 8 | Magical sitcom |
| Oct 12 | Charlie’s Angels | 5 | 1970s crime-fighting |
| Oct 12 | Dynasty | 9 | Shoulder-pad soap |
| Oct 12 | The Facts of Life | 9 | Boarding-school comedy |
| Oct 12 | The Love Boat | 9 | Romance at sea |
| Oct 12 | The Twilight Zone | 5 | Sci-fi anthology |
| Oct 26 | Days of Our Lives | TBD | Daytime drama |
| Oct 26 | The Young and the Restless | TBD | Daytime drama |

### Where to Start?

**Oct 5** kicks off with *Gunsmoke*, the long-running Western about Marshal Matt Dillon keeping the peace in Dodge City.

**Oct 12** is the big day, with six shows landing at once. *The Twilight Zone* is a fitting pick for Halloween season, while *Dynasty* offers the feuding Carrington and Colby families and plenty of 1980s excess. This is the original series, not the modern reboot.

**Oct 26** rounds things out with two daytime soaps. Netflix hasn’t said which episodes will stream, but both have decades of history to draw on.

If you’re deciding what to watch first, I’d go with *The Twilight Zone*. Its short episodes make it easy to sample before you commit to a longer series.
