Every family has that one bahu everyone adores. But what if she’s hiding something? The *Nayyi Navelli* trailer drops Mohini, played by [Yami Gautam](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yami_Gautam), into the Awasthi household, and her arrival turns everything upside down. This horror-comedy is aimed squarely at Dussehra family audiences.

### The Plot: Is Bhabhi Really a Daayan?

Set in Meerut, the story follows a picture-perfect bride who turns a chaotic household into paradise. Her brother-in-law isn’t convinced. In the teaser, he calls a family meeting to announce his suspicion: bhabhi is a daayan (witch). He gets slapped for it, but the trailer suggests he might not be entirely wrong.

The film mixes humour, fantasy, and family drama. Fans can already enjoy its first song, “Bhabhi Tabaahi.”

### Why Yami Gautam’s Role Stands Out?

*Nayyi Navelli* is a big shift for Yami. She’s known for serious dramas like *A Thursday* and *Lost*, but this is her first fantasy comedy. It’s also the first collaboration between Amazon MGM Studios, Yami, and Aanand L. Rai’s Colour Yellow.

Prime Video executive Nikhil Madhok called it “the Dussehra film,” saying no other date would do it justice.

### The Box Office Clash

Mid-October is crowded. Rajinikanth’s *Jailer 2* is reportedly arriving on October 15, and *Drishyam: The Conclusion* is still running strong after its blockbuster opening. Earlier reports also listed Dhanush’s *Om* on October 16, but it has since moved to November 20, so *Nayyi Navelli* gets one fewer rival.
