Robert Lewandowski fired his country ahead around the half-hour mark, but it was certainly not a sign of things to come during the remainder of the game. Belgium were able to charge forward with their attack, and equalised before half time courtesy of Axel Witsel.

Louis Van Gaal fielded a rotated line-up against Wales in the Nations League, with youngsters like Cody Gakpo, Noa Lang and Teun Koopmeiners starting. The latter opened the scoring with a driven shot in the 50th minute, before late drama in the game.

Norrington-Davies was able to equalise for Wales in the second minute of injury time. But just as it looked that they had stolen a point, Wout Weghorst scored a thumping header to break Welsh hearts and take all three points.
