Nations League 2022/23 results – June 6: France and Croatia draw; Denmark at the top

Nations League action continued on Monday, with a repeat of the 2018 World Cup final alongside Denmark and Austria meeting from the same group. Here is what went down across the different groups.

Nations League results June 6

  • Croatia 1-1 France
  • Austria 1-2 Denmark
  • Iceland 1-1 Albania
  • Slovakia 0-1 Kazakhstan
  • Belarus 0-0 Azerbaijan
  • Andorra 0-0 Moldova

Croatia 1-1 France

The finalists from the 2018 World Cup played out a draw in their Nations League rematch. Didier Deschamps fielded a rotated line-up, with Karim Benzema, Kylian Mbappe and captain Hugo Lloris rested.

Adrien Rabiot opened the scoring for the defending champions, with a left footed shot beating Livakovic. Andrej Kramaric scored from the penalty spot late in the game after a clumsy tackle from Jonathan Clauss gave Croatia a penalty. And as a result, both teams shared a point each.

Austria 1-2 Denmark

Jens Stryger Larsen scored for Denmark in the final minutes of the game to make it two wins in a row for them in the Nations League. Xaver Schlager was able to equalise for the hosts shortly after the hour mark, but a resilient performance from the Danes ensured that they finished the game on the right side of the scoresheet.

With their win, Denmark are now at the top of their group with six points, while Austria are behind them with three. France and Croatia are third and fourth with a point each from their first two games.
