The Euro 2020 finalists started their Nations League campaign with a surprise defeat against Hungary. Chelsea right-back Reece James gave away a penalty after coming off the bench, which was converted by Dominik Szoboszlai. The spot kick proved to be the difference maker in the game, as neither side was able to get another goal during the 90 minutes.

Italy 1-1 Germany

Following their defeat in the Finalissima against Argentina, Italy restarted their Nations League progress with a draw against Germany. Lorenzo Pellegrini opened the scoring for the Azzurri in the 70th minute, but their lead didn’t last long. Joshua Kimmich equalised by taking his shot from ten yards out.

Hungary are at the top of group A3, following their win against England. Italy and Germany are second and third, while England are at the bottom. They already have a huge task ahead of them if they are to make it to the latter stages of the tournament. Germany take on England and Italy face off against Hungary in the next round.
