The 21/22 season has finally come to a conclusion with the final round of Nations League fixtures played out. England were handed a 4-0 defeat at home by Hungary, while Germany were able to defeat Italy 5-2 to bring their fourth round fixtures to a conclusion. Here are all the results from the Nations League:

Nations League results June 14

  • Germany 5-2 Italy
  • England 0-4 Hungary
  • Poland 0-1 Belgium
  • Netherlands 3-2 Wales
  • Ukraine 1-1 Ireland
  • Romania 0-3 Montenegro
  • Bosnia and Herzegovina 3-2 Finland
  • Turkey 2-0 Lithuania
  • Luxembourg 2-2 Faroe Islands
  • Liechtenstein 0-2 Latvia
  • Armenia 1-4 Scotland
  • Moldova 2-1 Andorra

England 0-4 Hungary

Gareth Southgate went for a heavily rotated line-up in the final match of their international campaign. But, the decision backfired horribly. They have been handed their worst loss since 1928. Roman Sallai scored a double, while Zsolt Nagy and Daniel Gazdag also got onto the scoresheet against the Three Lions.

England’s attacking problems are also an issue heading into Qatar, with the team going over six hours without a goal from open play. The fans booed Southgate after the final whistle, and he will have a lot to work on as the trip to Qatar draws nearer.

Germany 5-2 Italy

Germany are now second in their Nations League group after thrashing Italy 5-2. A quick fire brace from Timo Werner, and goals from Thomas Muller, Ilkay Gundogan and Joshua Kimmich made it a comfortable win for the home team. Italy were able to score two consolation goals through young Wilfried Gnonto and Alessandro Bastoni, but the match was well out of their hands at that point.
