Portugal struggled to create many chances during the game before Diogo Jota and Bernardo Silva were subbed on. But, the home team soaked up all the pressure and held on until the final whistle to earn their first win in the competition.

Spain extended their unbeaten run to 10 games across all competitions with a win against Czech Republic. Carlos Soler was able to open the scoring in Valencia after early pressure from the visitors.
