Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee’s imminent film ‘Raktabeej,’ an intense thriller based on a real-life incident, has upped the excitement bar with the issue of its new official poster: the picture stars Victor Banerjee, Abir Chatterjee, and Mimi Chakraborty in the chief. The thriller is set to hit the big awnings this Durga Puja.
On India’s 77th Independence Day, the official poster of the much-anticipated Bengali movie ‘Raktabeej’ was unveiled, featuring the chief actors Victor Banerjee, Abir Chatterjee, and Mimi Chakraborty.
Directed by the duo Nandita Roy besides Shiboprosad Mukherjee, this thriller takes a spur from the 2014 Burdwan blast that profoundly exaggerated Bengal and the nation. The narrative revolves around a significant figure’s return to his fatherland and an unexpected explosion in a firecracker unit that divulges a looming threat to his life.
Victor Banerjee, honored with the Padma Bhushan, stars as the lead and is supported by an ensemble cast including Abir, Mimi, Anasua Majumdar, Kanchan Mallick, Ambarish Bhattacharya, Satyam Bhattacharya, Debasish Mondal, Devlina Kumar, and many more.
Shiboprosad, upon the poster’s release, highlighted its symbolism with the protagonists positioned against India’s tricolor flag instead of their bravery, belief, and resolve. Notably, ‘Raktabeej’ is set against the vibrant backdrop of Durga Puja and is planned for release on October 19 in four languages: Bengali, Hindi, Odia, then Assamese. Sharing his enthusiasm, Shiboprosad elaborated on the complicated details of the motion poster, hinting at its significance in the film’s main storyline. He expressed their intent to offer audiences an enticing prelude to the festivities and the film’s publicity journey.
Incidentally, this Puja will see a substantial box headquarters clash in Tollywood with three big-budget films, ‘Raktabeej,’ ‘Baghajatin,’ and ‘Dawshom Awbotaar,’ headline for the same-day release.

Based on a real-life incident from 2014, the picture deals with the aftermath of a Burdwan building that caught fire on Mahashtami. Upon examination, it was revealed that the residents were making explosives—the movie transactions with the speculation around the incident that gripped the state afterward the incident. Set to be a high-octane thriller, the film stars Abir Chatterjee, Mimi Chakraborty, besides Victor Banerjee. The power-packed story will hit screens on October 20 this year, according to the fateful day of Shashti.

“Raktabeej is a flick set in the backdrop of Durga Puja, and therefore, Nandita and I decided to release the picture in Puja. This is our first directorial to release in Puja, and we are completely excited,” said Shiboprosad.
