Get ready for ghosts, ropes, and royal secrets — Nam Joo Hyuk’s next big project just got real with a fresh poster and confirmed premiere date. “The East Palace” follows the story of Gu Cheon, played by Nam Joo Hyuk, who can traverse the world of ghosts, and Saeng Gang, played by Roh Yoon Seo, a court lady with the ability to hear ghosts, as they are summoned by the King, played by Cho Seung Woo, to unearth the cursed palace’s secrets.

This isn’t just any drama lineup either. It’s helmed by director Choi Jung Gyu of “The Devil Judge” and “Children of Nobody,” with scripts written by Kwon So Ra and Seo Jae Won of “Bulgasal: Immortal Souls” and “The Guest” — basically a dream team for anyone who loves moody supernatural storytelling.

The newly released poster is doing a lot of talking on its own. It depicts Gu Cheon stepping into a dark pond while tied to a rope, with peach branches tied to his back and a strange redness in the air creating tension, alongside the line “Beyond the boundaries of the Real World into the Spirit Realm”. Creepy? Yes. Intriguing? Absolutely.

Following his projects in “Start-Up,” “Twenty Five, Twenty One,” and “Vigilante,” Nam Joo Hyuk transforms into someone who travels between the real world and spirit realm, joined by Roh Yoon Seo of “20th Century Girl” and “Crash Course in Romance”. Talk about a glow-up in genre range. [soompi](https://www.soompi.com/article/1847273wpp/nam-joo-hyuks-the-east-palace-announces-premiere-date-with-first-poster)
