Saudi Arabia club Al Qadsiah have agreed a two-year deal with Nacho Fernandez, as confirmed by Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano. The move has been given the “here we go” signal by the insider, meaning it is only a matter of time before the deal is official.

The centre-back’s decision to leave at the end of the season was revealed prior to the Champions League final. And after lifting Real Madrid’s 15th Champions League title as the captain, the defender has ended his 23-year spell with Los Blancos in the best possible manner.

The 34-year-old has completed the medical tests for the transfer, and will soon put pen to paper on the documents, completing the formalities needed to seal the transfer.

Nacho came through Real Madrid’s academy, and the centre-back has made 364 appearances for the senior team, primarily as a consistent squad player. But after the departure of Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane, he truly stepped up and led from the front, building on his years of experience.

The Spaniard is currently representing his country at Euro 2024, and his move will likely be announced after the tournament is over.

How many games has Nacho played for Spain?

26 games
