Mumbai City FC transfer news- Akash Mishra officially signs
Amidst interest from multiple clubs in India, Hyderabad FC left-back Akash Mishra has chosen to sign for Mumbai City FC. The defender was highly sought after, but has committed his future to the Islanders and has signed a contract with them until 2028.
The 21-year-old spent three seasons with Hyderabad FC, and played a very important part in their ISL title win a couple of seasons ago. He has been named the 2022/23 AIFF emerging player of the year, and it will be very interesting to see how he grows under Des Buckingham at Mumbai.
Mumbai City FC players news: Tiri signs one-year deal
Spanish centre-back Tiri has signed a one-year deal with Mumbai City FC for the 23/24 season. The player left ATK Mohun Bagan as a free agent at the end of his contract this past season, and has now decided to play for the Sky Blues.
According to Buckingham, he has been on the club’s radar for years and has finally made the switch to the champions of India.
Mumbai City FC transfer news: Yoëll van Nieff to sign on two-year deal
The Islanders have completed the signing of Dutch midfielder Yoëll van Nieff on a two-year deal, as the replacement for Ahmed Jahouh. The 30-year-old plays for Puskás Akadémia FC in the Hungarian first division, and will now make the move to the ISL as the latest foreign recruit for the title winners.
His arrival will be expected to provide the club with a significant boost in their chances in the AFC Champions League.
Mumbai City FC signings: Vinit Rai signs permanently as a free agent
The Sky Blues have also confirmed the permanent signing of defensive midfielder Vinit Rai, after he left Odisha FC at the end of his contract. The 25-year-old spent the last one and a half seasons on loan from Odisha, and has now signed permanently with the club.
He has signed a one-year deal with Mumbai and has already made 33 appearances for them so far.
Mumbai City FC: Mourtada Fall and Ahmed Jahouh sign for Odisha
Two very reliable players for Des Buckingham, Ahmed Jahouh and Mourtada Fall, have both left the club this summer to join Odisha FC. Both have signed a contract until 2025, and will be reuniting with Sergio Lobera, who also coached them at Mumbai.
Fall has made 68 appearances in the Sky Blue shirt, scoring eight goals. But he has now decided to take up a new challenge with the Super Cup winners alongside Jahouh, who also moved on after the expiry of his contract.
