Mumbai City FC have confirmed the arrival of Jorge Pereyra Diaz from Kerala Blasters for the coming season. The player’s transfer is subject to a medical transfer. Once the assessment is complete, he will be presented as a new incoming player for the Islanders.

The Argentine scored eight goals and provided one assist for the Blasters in 21 games last season. The 31-year-old becomes the third forward to join the club after Greg Stewart and David Williams. It will be interesting to see how Des Buckingham deploys the three prolific forwards in his system.

Mumbai City FC have had a very impressive transfer window so far. They have extended the contracts of Ahmed Jahouh and Mourtada Fall. Moreover, they have confirmed the arrivals of Greg Stewart, David Williams, Alberto Noguera and Sanjeev Stalin.

As a result, they are shaping one of the best squads of the season. With an experienced forward like Jorge Pereyra Diaz also among their ranks, it is difficult to see any other team coming close in terms of quality.

The Islanders aim to return to the top of the league, after a disappointing season in 21/22 where they didn’t even make the playoffs. Now, there are realistic chances of them winning the double again if they can get things right on the pitch.
