Mumbai City FC have sealed their ISL final spot with a 2-0 win over FC Goa in the second leg semifinal tie. In the process, they have set up a highly anticipated rematch against Mohun Bagan SG at the Salt Lake Stadium this Saturday, to decide who wins the ISL Cup in its 10th edition.

The first half ended 0-0 between the two teams, but City could afford to sit back as they had a one-goal lead after the incredible comeback in Fatorda. However, FC Goa couldn’t construct many meaningful chances in the game, with the final ball always lacking.

Backed by their home fans, the Sky Blues were far the better team, and achieved the breakthrough with Jorge Pereyra Diaz scoring a header from a corner. The best goal of the game, however, belonged to LZ Chhangte.

The India international has been in top form recently, especially after championing the comeback against Goa in the first leg with his late brace. The forward received the ball on the break and shrugged off a couple of defenders to round the keeper and make it 5-2 on aggregate, taking away any possibility of a comeback.

Now, it remains to be seen whether Mumbai City FC can avenge their loss in the ISL Shield decider just a few weeks ago in front of the raucous crowd at the Salt Lake Stadium.
