Bengaluru FC overcame defending champions Mumbai City FC 3-0 to shock them and take all three points in the process. Here are the three talking points from the game.
Roshan Singh continues to impress
With his two assists for Prince Ibara today, Roshan Singh has the most assists for a defender in the ISL. The Bengaluru FC right-back is only 22, but is building himself up as one of the best in his position in the league. With 5 total assists, he is only behind Ahmed Jahouh in the highest assist providers list in the league.
In his team’s 3-0 win against the reigning champions, Roshan Singh was named the Hero of the Match, as he was not only outstanding going forward, but also in defense.
Bengaluru FC continue resurgence
The team has not lost one game in their last five outings, and took three points off of the best team in the division. They are now in seventh place, although having played an extra game. But, being able to continue this form will bring about an exciting end to their season.
Mumbai City FC’s woes continue
The Islanders have lost three out of their last five games. They have also lost their defensive composure at this stage in the season. To put things into perspective, they have conceded more goals at the halfway point this time around than they did throughout last season.
Although they are still in second spot right now, it won’t be long before Mumbai City FC are lower in the table.
