As a recent report from Apple, the company is currently working on adding multi-user support to iPads and iPhones over the coming weeks. With these features, multiple persons can use the same iPhone or iPad without leaking anyone’s privacy and sensitive information.

The patent recently granted to Apple says, “Provision of domains in the secure enclave to support multiple users.”

Apple also mentioned, “both single-user mobile computing devices and multi-user laptop and desktop computing devices.”

The patent explains, “A computing device can employ several passcodes and associated encryption keys, where multiple passcodes or encryptions keys may be associated with each different user account on the system.”

From those statements from Apple, we’ve got to understand the technology that Apple is using to secure its device from multiple-users. The particular Apple device can recognize multiple users via passcodes and encryption keys. In this process, at first, the primary user needs to secure his/her personal information (payment info, account info).

Regarding this matter, the patent reads, “enable multi-user access to the data processing system, group keys can be created, such that via membership within a group on the system (e.g. administrators, users, etc.) can enable different levels of access to the system.”

As per the patents, a processing system is there which will differ from the system processors, it “is a system on a chip (SoC) integrated circuit that enables various secure peripheral and input/output (I/O) operations.”  In this process, all the private as well as shared information have to get pass-through this SEP or the future T2 chip.
