There is less than one month left before the start of the biggest T-20 cricket league, IPL 2020. Every team is at the peak of their training. At this very moment, CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan told media that Thala (MS Dhoni) was at full charge and hit some huge sixes during the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) training sessions that concluded at Chennai on Thursday. He hit those sixes in every corner of the park and some were too big, even traveling beyond the stands.
CEO also added to media that Dhoni was, as usual, sharp and confident. He was as calm and relaxed as before, timing the ball really well, and hitting sixes into the stands.
“Dhoni is striking the ball very well. And there were plenty of sixes in all directions. Dhoni was his usual self, relaxed, confident, and happy,” Viswanathan said.
According to the CEO, the team (CSK) itself had no idea about the retirement of MS Dhoni at all. They were so shocked and surprised after hearing the news from that Instagram post. They were equally shocked about the retirement of Suresh Raina too.
“The boys had not trained for a long time and this was good for them. Coming after a break, they did not stretch themselves fully. That could have led to injuries. But the cricketers gradually found their rhythm,” the CSK CEO added.
Earlier there were five days of training camp of CSK in India. The team will leave for UAE for this year’s IPL on Friday afternoon. After reaching the UAE, there will be six days of quarantine for the team. After that, the team can start further training sessions. Viswanathan was also very pleased and satisfied with the performance of other players of the team. He added that Murali Vijay and Ruturaj Gaekwad were striking the ball really well in the camp. Net bowler, paceman Aswin Crist was equally impressive in that training session.
