Chaipatti
A roughly 12-minute-long short film, Chaipatti on Disney+ Hotstar and MX Player is packed with just the right dose of spookiness and amusement. The crisp story about three friends who sit one night to invite ghosts gives the audience edge-of-the-seat moments while tickling the funny bone.
The trio – played by Sudhanshu Rai – who is also the Director of the short film, Shobhit Sujay and Abhishek Sonpaliya – use a ‘Bhoot Bulaane Waali Kitaab’ which enshrines the mantras and rituals to reach out to the ghosts. A delicate young lad, who is usually the subject of jokes in the town, is out to save the people of Salem in Massachesettes from a kidnapper. The young man named Hubie Dubois, played brilliantly by Adam Sandler, meets a stranger a day before Halloween and what follows the next day is a complete roller coaster ride.
The horror comedy film directed by Steven Brill has won accolades all around and is currently streaming on Netflix. The other cast includes Kevin James, Julie Bowen, Rob Schneider and Karan Brar, among others.
Golmaal Again
Helmed by Rohit Shetty, Golmaal Again is an often underrated horror-comedy out of Bollywood. The intriguing star cast, which includes Sumeet Vyas, Naveen Kasturia, Amol Parashar, Ashish Verma and Swara Bhaskar, is a highlight of the horror-comedy directed by Gaurav Sinha. Aapke kamre mein koi rehta hai is streaming on MX Player.
