Motorola Razr 50 India Launch Date Announced: Key Details Revealed

Motorola has confirmed the debut date of its much-anticipated clamshell foldable smartphone Motorola Razr 50 in India. The phone now has a dedicated microsite on Amazon revealing key specifications and its arrival details. Expected to launch on September 9, the Motorola Razr 50 will be available via Amazon India and the appropriate zones of both physical and digital stores.

The most interesting aspect of the Razr 50 is its large external display, which measures in at a huge 3.6 inches and Moto says this is the biggest for a clamshell smartphone. The new phone will also compete with other popular flip phones like the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and OPPO Find N3. The external display promises impressive performance with a peak brightness of 1700 nits, 100% DCI-P3 color gamut support, SGS Eye Protection certification, and robust Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection.

A notable addition to the Razr 50 is its integration of Gemini technology, making it the only flip phone in its category to feature this innovation. This allows users to run any application on the external screen, which functions similarly to the main internal display. Another feature on this thing is Desk Mode, which apparently just makes the phone actually usable while holding it before turning into the landscape.

The Razr 50 is expected to feature some sort of a dual camera on the back, which should offer much better photography thanks to a more versatile setup. On top of that, the second screen used as a selfie viewfinder creates an innovative and very useful solution for snaps. The Razr 50 will also have an IPX8 water resistance rating, so it should be able to take whatever you throw at (or drop on) it.
