Motorola Moto G Play (2024): Unveiling Specifications and Leaked Renders

Motorola recently unveiled the Moto G Play (2023) smartphone in December 2022. This new device boasts a 6.5-inch screen, Helio G37 SoC, 3GB RAM, a triple camera setup, with a 16MP lens, and a selfie camera with 5MP capabilities.

Now there are indications that Motorola is preparing to release the Moto G Play (2024) as the successor to its model. While an official launch date has yet to be confirmed by the Lenovo-owned company detailed specifications and renders have been leaked by OnLeaks in collaboration with Smartmania.

The Leaked Moto G Play (2024)

Based on the leaked renders from Smartmania it appears that the upcoming Moto G Play (2024) will feature a punch-hole display with side bezels while maintaining a chin below the screen. The power and volume keys will be positioned on the edge of the device to enhance its design. At the bottom of the phone users can expect to find a USB Type C port, speaker grille, and microphone for usage. Additionally, Motorola has decided to retain the 3.5mm audio jack at the top of the handset for access. To enhance security measures they have also integrated a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, into the power button.

Moving on to the specifications the upcoming Moto G Play (2024) is expected to come with a 6.5-inch Full HD+ display that offers a 90Hz refresh rate. It will be powered by a Qualcomm processor. The device will be made available in a configuration that includes 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. Users will have the option to expand the storage further by using a microSD card slot.

In contrast, to its predecessor the Moto G Play (2024) will come equipped with a 50MP camera resolution allowing users to capture 4K videos. For selfies and video calls the device will have an 8MP camera. Powering the package is a 5,000mAh battery.

On the software side, the Moto G Play (2024) will run on Android 13 right out of the box providing users with the software experience. The handset will be available in color options with an expected price of around $169 (approximately ₹14,100). Although there is no launch date disclosed at present reports, from Smartmania indicate that the smartphone is expected to be announced next month.
