Motorola Edge 50 India Launch Date Set for August 1

Talking about the launch, the Motorola Edge 50 will be launched in India next month. The company has detailed its launch, availability design, color options, and features. Set to be the world’s slimmest MIL-810H-certified phone, the device also should pack Sony LYTIA 700, and it will have an IP68 rating. The base Edge 50 will join the existing lineup, which includes the Motorola Edge 50 Pro, Edge 50 Ultra, and Edge 50 Fusion, all of which are already available in India.

As per a post on X, the Motorola Edge 50 will go on sale in India starting August 1 at 12 PM IST via Flipkart and leading offline retail stores alongside being available for purchase directly from within Moto Maker.

The Flipkart microsite for the phone also went live last week revealing its design, color options, and a few key features. Its design looks the same as Motorola Edge 50 Pro which means a triple camera unit. Motorola Edge 50 will be offered in Jungle Green and Pantone Peach Fuzz with vegan leather, as well as Koala Grey with a vegan suede finish.

Moving on, the Motorola Edge 50 is said to come with a 6.67-inch pOLED screen boasting of 1.5K resolution and Smart Water Touch. The device will run a 4nm chipset of Snapdragon 7 Gen 1. The 256GB storage variant will support virtual RAM expansion. Additionally, the phone will get three years of OS upgrades and four years of security updates.

For photography, the Motorola Edge 50 will have a 50-megapixel Sony LYTIA 700C primary sensor with Moto AI features. The camera setup will also include a 10-megapixel telephoto lens and a 13-megapixel sensor paired with an ultra-wide lens. The front camera will have a 32-megapixel sensor. Motorola Edge 50 is said to house a 5,000mAh battery that will be backed by support for up to 68W TurboPower wired charging and 15W wireless charging. An IP68 dust and water resistance rating along with MIL-810H certification will be provided as well. The device will come with an In-display Fingerprint Sensor for security.
