MotoGP has agreed a deal with the Uttar Pradesh government for the return of the tour to the Buddh International Circuit from 2025-2027. The first Indian Grand Prix was held in September 2023, and is set to resume from next year onwards.

The General Elections and considerations over the weather forced the organizers to push back this year’s race to 2025. Previously, there were concerns over non-payment of dues to Dorna Sports, the organizing body, from Indian organizers. However, it was a mutually agreed decision to have the race in 2025.

MotoGP to return to Uttar Pradesh for three seasons

As per the official MotoGP site, a total of 100,000 people attended the inaugural Buddh International Circuit in 2023. Now, they are set to bring the race to one of their biggest target markets for a chance to grow further.

Temperatures soared to 32-35 degrees in September when the drivers took to the race, making it extremely challenging. Now, a slot for October has been confirmed, with the expectation that temperatures should ease as we draw close to the end of the year.

It remains to be seen whether MotoGP’s target audience is reached and if the market in one of the most populous countries in the world continues to grow.
