The Moto G34 5G, unveiled in India on January 9, marks Motorola‘s initial product release of 2024 in the country, positioned as a budget-friendly 5G smartphone under the Lenovo-owned brand. This device features a hole-punch display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The Moto G34 5G is equipped with a substantial 5,000mAh battery and was originally introduced to the Chinese market in December of the previous year.

In terms of pricing, the base variant with 4GB RAM + 128GB storage is priced at ₹10,999, while the top-end model with 8GB RAM + 128GB storage is priced at ₹11,999. Motorola is offering a ₹1,000 exchange bonus for the new device, reducing the effective price to ₹9,999 and ₹10,999, respectively. The handset is available in Charcoal Black, Ice Blue, and Ocean Green colors, with the Green variant featuring a rear panel adorned with a vegan leather finish.
The Moto G34 5G is set to go on sale through Flipkart and select retail outlets in India starting January 17. Operating with dual SIM (Nano) compatibility, it ships with Android 14, with the promise of an upgrade to Android 15 and three years of security patches. The device boasts a 6.5-inch HD+ LCD display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, a 20:9 aspect ratio, and a 240Hz touch sampling rate. The display incorporates Panda Glass protection, offering a pixel density of 269ppi and a peak brightness of 580nits, with a hole-punch cutout at the top.
Powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 695 SoC and 8GB of RAM, the Moto G34 5G allows for virtual expansion of available memory up to 16GB using unused storage. Its camera setup includes a 50-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture, a 2-megapixel macro sensor with f/2.4 aperture, and a single LED flash. For selfies and video calls, it features a 16-megapixel front camera with f/2.4 aperture. The device offers 128GB of UFS 2.2 onboard storage, expandable up to 1TB via a microSD card slot.
Connectivity options encompass 5G, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth, FM radio, GPS/A-GPS, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port. Biometric authentication is facilitated by a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and the device supports facial unlock. Additional sensors onboard include accelerometer, ambient light, gyroscope, SAR sensor, sensor hub, e-compass, and proximity sensor. The Moto G34 5G incorporates dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos sound technology.
The device is equipped with a 5,000mAh battery, accompanied by 20W TurboPower charging (included in the box). It has dimensions of 162.7×74.6x8mm and weighs 179 grams, with the Vegan Leather variant weighing 181 grams.
