Real Valladolid are close to agreeing a transfer for Selim Amallah from Belgian club Standard Liege. The transfer has been given the here we go signal by Fabrizio Romano, which means it is only a matter of time before it is completed.
The 26-year-old plays as an attacking midfielder, and is valued at €6.5 million on Transfermarkt. He played every single game for Morocco at the 2022 World Cup, and is now set to join one of the big five leagues in Europe.
Selim Amallah to join Real Valladolid in the coming days
The midfielder was born in Hautrage, Belgium and can also represent them. But, he has decided to represent Morocco at the international level instead. Interestingly, he has spent his entire club career in Belgium.
Selim Amallah featured for Mouscron across two spells, as well as Tubize before joining Standard Liege in 2019. This season, he has made nine Jupiler Pro League appearances, scoring four goals and providing one assist.
His contract with Liege runs out in the summer, and Valladolid are negotiating the transfer early instead of waiting to sign him as a free agent. It now remains to be seen whether he can make a difference in their fight to survive in the Spanish top flight. Real Valladolid are in 17th place, but are only a point from safety.
