Moises Caicedo transfer news: Major twists in the tale
Chelsea’s final offer was in the region of £100 million before it was bettered by the Merseyside club. And now, BlueCo will make another offer to try and seal the deal as the plan for them was to keep trying until the contracts were formally signed between Caicedo and Liverpool.
Brighton are expecting an offer from the London club soon, which will allow them to complete the transfer by this weekend. The plan for the clubs is to get the deal over the line in the coming days.
The Seagulls have been playing hardball throughout the negotiations and have asked for a sum around £100 million. Now, it remains to be seen how much Chelsea will bid in order to land their top transfer target this summer.
Liverpool made a bid for Caicedo after Chelsea made a £48 million offer for Romeo Lavia, who was Liverpool’s top target in the number six position throughout the summer. The Southampton midfielder’s situation remains as unclear as ever, with Liverpool also in limbo over the deal for both midfielders.
Chelsea have also left the deal for Tyler Adams from Leeds United, in spite of the medical being completed for the USMNT international. The documents were not signed for the deal, and the Blues have decided to focus solely on Moises Caicedo which has caused Adams’ transfer to collapse.
