## What’s at Stake?

This is more than an opening fixture — it’s the beginning of a completely revamped ISL format. For the first time, the league runs as a **pure round-robin with no playoffs**, meaning every point from Game 1 counts for the title race.

For Mohun Bagan’s new Spanish coach **Sergio Lobera**, this is his first competitive game in charge. For Kerala Blasters’ **David Catala**, it’s a chance to immediately signal that his rebuilt squad — with an entirely new foreign contingent — can compete at the top.

> *“We have the best squad in the country. We’ve trained well and we’ve come here to win.”* — Dimi Petratos, Mohun Bagan

> *“It’s a very good opportunity for us to prove ourselves and start the season on a positive note.”* — Danish Farooq, Kerala Blasters

## Key Players to Watch

**Jamie Maclaren (MBSG):** The Australian striker was Mohun Bagan’s Golden Boot winner last season with 12 ISL goals. He’s already bagged 3 in cup competitions this year — expect him to be lethal.

**Korou Singh (KBFC):** The exciting 19-year-old winger had 6 goal contributions last season and will look to torment MBSG’s defence with his pace and trickery down the right flank.
