Mohun Bagan SG were left stunned at the Salt Lake Stadium after Odisha FC completed a 5-2 comeback to claim all three points in their AFC Cup Group Stage match. Another win would have allowed the Mariners to qualify for the knockout stages, but their fate now depends on Odisha FC not winning their final game which would allow them a chance to finish second.Â
The home team was missing four players through injury, but after spending upwards of INR 70 crore to build one of the deepest squads the ISL has ever seen, that might not be a valid excuse. Juan Ferrando’s men started the game positively, with Hugo Boumous scoring 17 minutes into the game. But, it would be levelled near the half-hour mark with Roy Krishna scoring against his former team.
