Omar El Husseiny scored from the spot at the half-hour mark before Aser Dipanda Dica doubled the scoreline in the 69th minute to rediscover his scoring touch.

Sony Norde was once again the limelight for Bagan as he was the livewire for the Mariners in the attacking third.

Aser Dipanda Dica regained his shooting boots (69′) after Omar El Hussieny scored the opening goal from the spot (30′).

Bagan continued their domination in the second half as well. Yuta Kinowaki and Omar were winning the midfield battle against Minerva which complicated the matters for Munster’s team.

“I’m very happy with the game. The players did all the good work and motivated each other to play well. It’s because of the players that we won today,” Khalid Jamil said after the match.

Khalid Jamil in his first match as head coach of Mohun Bagan, made five changes to the side from their defeat against Real Kashmir. Dalraj Singh and Gurjinder Kumar made their way back into a four-man backline. Former Mumbai FC player Darren Caldeira started in place of Sourav Das in midfield. Khiangte was dropped from the matchday squad and Azharuddin Mallick started on the left flank. Ugandan striker Henry Kisekka was also benched as Jamil preferred Aser Dipanda Dica up front.

The Bagan coach didn’t have as much a problem with the refereeing as much as his counterpart from Minerva Punjab, Paul Munster.

Mohun Bagan will play their next match against Neroca on December 12th at the Yuba Bharati Krirangan(Salt lake Stadium).
