The Kolkata Derby ignited as Mohun Bagan edged past East Bengal 1-0 in a thrilling Durand Cup opener. After a scoreless first half, Sahal Abdul Samad struck seven minutes post-restart, capitalizing on a clinical assist from Kiyan Nassiri. Despite East Bengal’s late pressure, keeper Vishal Kaith’s heroic save secured the victory, marking a perfect start for the new coaching era.
