Chennaiyin FC are set to sign Mohammad Nawaz from Mumbai City in the coming days as their new first-choice goalkeeper. The contract has been finalised and the medicals have been completed for the player, and only the signature is pending for the move to be made official.
The Marina Machans let Debjit Majumder return to East Bengal right at the end of the season, and have now recruited their top pick as his replacement.

The 24-year-old was the starting goalkeeper for the Islanders after his transfer from FC Goa in 2021. However, he since dropped down to the backup option with Phurba Lachenpa taking over. Lachenpa won the ISL Golden Glove this past season, showing he has been the best in the division.
And to receive regular game time, Mohammad Nawaz’s move to Chennaiyin could be a great decision. Owen Coyle’s side has invested heavily over the last few weeks, signing the likes of Elsinho Dias, Gurkirat Singh and Laldinpuia, showing their ambition to finish at the top.
Mumbai have been clearing out their squad right after the end of the season, and it will be interesting to see how they reinforce their line-up for the coming season.
