Mohamed Salah to Al Ittihad? The latest on PIF’s massive €150m bid

Mohamed Salah has attracted interest from Saudi Arabian club Al Ittihad for a transfer late in the window. The Egyptian has been offered a massive contract which is at par with that of Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar. Moreover, Liverpool have been offered a transfer fee in the region of €150 million including add-ons, which would make him the most expensive PIF-funded transfer of all-time after Neymar who was signed for €90 million from PSG.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has rejected claims that the winger will leave the club. He has reiterated that there is nothing to worry about on his end and that Salah remains committed to the Merseyside club.

“It’s always difficult to talk about media stories because there’s nothing to talk about from our point of view. We don’t have an offer, Mo Salah is a Liverpool player. Obviously for all the things we do, essential, was, will be. There’s nothing there, if there would be something the answer would be no,” Klopp recently said in a press conference.

Mohamed Salah’s agent, Ramy Abbas has also denied claims that the player is looking to leave this summer. But, reports suggest that the Saudi club are not giving up on their pursuit of the player.

Salah signed a new contract with Liverpool last summer, and it runs until 2025. But, there are contrasting reports which suggest that the player has informed Liverpool of his desire to leave the club.

The transfer window in Saudi Arabia is open later than the Premier League. Which means that Al Ittihad will have three more weeks to complete a transfer for the Egyptian if they really want to go all the way.
