Amidst rumours linking Real Madrid to another shopping spree in the summer of 2021 that would see them invest in the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland, Los Blancos seem to have found their prime target for good.

Liverpool star Mohamed Salah is the name that is being touted as the primary target for Florentino Perez when the ongoing season reaches its conclusion. A fee worth £108 million is being talked about on the internet, which, in today’s transfer market, is a reasonable amount for the current top scorer in the Premier League.

La Liga pundit and former Arsenal striker Kevin Campbell had this to say regarding the rumours linking the winger with a move to Spain:

“I could see him Salah fitting in perfectly at Real Madrid.”

“Barcelona are in a transition period and while they may need to invest if Messi goes, I think Real Madrid are a lot more likely a destination than Barcelona right now.”

“They have more of a complete squad and of course they are the current La Liga champions. You know what that club brings, it is a powerhouse.”

Salah has been one of the most important players in Jurgen Klopp’s revival of Liverpool, and has managed to win almost every major trophy available with the Merseyside reds during his time with the club.

Considering that he still has two and a half years left on his contract with Liverpool, the club are under no obligation to part ways with their prized asset. And considering that they hold the high ground in this situation, they could also ask for a higher fee for the Egyptian if they so desire it.

Salah, on the other hand, has been open to a potential move to Spain, saying:

“I think Madrid and Barcelona are top clubs.”

“We never know what is going to happen in the future, but right now I’m focused on winning the Premier League and the Champions League again with my club.”
