Indian Woman’s Team skipper Mithali Raj becomes the first Indian Cricketer to score 10,000 runs in International cricket. She reached the feat on Friday after completing 35 runs in the 3rd ODI against South Africa.

Now, She is the second women’s cricketer in the world after England’s Charlotte Edwards to complete 10,000 landmark runs in international cricket. Former England skipper has scored 10,273 runs in his career. Mithali Raj is just 273 runs away from becoming the highest run-getter in Woman’s cricket.

Mithali Raj made her debut in 1999 against Ireland. The 38 years old has appeared in over 200 ODIs, 10 Tests, and 89 T20I matches. She is already the top run-getter in the ODI format with over 6,000 runs, including 7 centuries. In Tests, she has scored 663 runs with an average of 51.00. In the T20s, she scored 2364 runs with an average of 37.52.

Earlier on Thursday, Mithali’s teammate Smriti Mandhana was excited for this amazing feat of his captain. She told the Journalist, “Getting to 10,000 runs first or second is a huge thing. She is the first Indian to do that so I think it is something that shows how consistent she has been throughout her career. We have looked up to her, definitely a very proud feeling for all of us in the team.”

India won the match and took the lead in the series. Mithali Raj and Punam Raut put a 77 runs partnership for the 3rd wicket after losing the first two wickets quickly.
