Miralem Pjanic is set to leave Barcelona, and will be joining Sharjah FC in the UAE on a permanent deal. The Bosnian has been left out of their Champions League squad, and will soon complete a permanent transfer away.
The player spent the last season on loan at Turkish side Besiktas, and has two years left on his deal with Barcelona. He joined them in 2020 as part of the swap deal that the club did with Juventus, involving Arthur. The career of neither player has gone according to plan, and Pjanic will soon be signing for the Middle Eastern side.
Miralem Pjanic to join Sharjah FC soon
The 32-year-old has earned 108 caps for the national team, and has scored 18 goals for them so far. But, he only made 30 appearances for the Blaugranas during his initial spell across all competitions.
He never really settled in, and could soon sign a three-year contract with Sharjah since they have made a good offer for him. Whether or not a transfer fee will be involved remains to be seen, since Pjanic is surplus to requirements.
Miralem Pjanic was able to provide four assists in 26 appearances for Besiktas last season. And at this stage, he is expected to take on a renewed challenge in the UAE Pro League with his new club.
