Mino Raiola sat down with Spanish publication Diario AS to discuss the futures of two of his major clients, Erling Haaland and Paul Pogba. Both of them have been the subject of heavy transfer rumours, and Raiola happily added some more for the footballing world to ponder over.
“Real Madrid can afford Erling Haaland. They’ve money to sign him,” said the super agent when asked about Real Madrid’s interest in his client. He continued, “Borussia Dortmund spoke very seriously with us and said: we-don’t-sell-him.
“Let’s see if that desire exists until September 1. But… I’ve a different position: if a good bid will arrive and everyone is happy, we will put it on the table”
Every major club in Europe is interested in Haaland, but few will be able to afford to sign him this summer. The Norwegian has a release clause that comes into play next summer, and will be valued at €75 million.
Raiola also spoke about Paul Pogba and his future at Manchester United, or even away from it: “The most important thing now is to know what Man United wants, what project they’re proposing. He’s interested in one thing: winning the Champions League and titles, we are going to see where this is possible, if at United or at other clubs”
“Pogba to Real Madrid? It’s difficult […]. But impossible is nothing. What if Real offer a Hazard-Pogba swap? It’s just an example. And if all parties like it, why not?
Playing for Real was always very attractive for Pogba because of his idol Zidane too.”
While the stance is softer than what it was earlier this season, with Raiola saying that Pogba would leave for sure. As for the Hazard-Pogba swap deal, that was surely a fantasy booking and there is no way that Real would want to let go of an attacking talent like Eden Hazard to sign Pogba in the presence of their midfield trio of Kroos, Casemiro and Modric.
