Erling Haaland is without a doubt the hottest name in the football transfer market right now, and every club in Europe has been linked with his signature next summer. The Borussia Dortmund striker’s €75 million release clause will come into effect next summer, and big clubs like Real Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea, Manchester City and PSG will be able to sign him.
However, the transfer will be a huge investment on the part of any club that chooses to sign him. Not only will they have to pay his transfer fee, but they will also have to agree on a £43 million wage for the player. His agent, Mino Raiola will ensure that the salary demands compensate for the relatively low transfer fee for the youngster.
Paris Saint-Germain have identified Haaland as the top replacement for Kylian Mbappe if he leaves for Real Madrid next summer. The France international only has one year remaining on his current deal and has denied advances from the management to extend his contract time and time again.
The French club will be able to fork out that kind of money, but it remains to be seen whether they will be able to sign the player ahead of other clubs like Manchester City and Real Madrid. Haaland has scored 68 goals in 67 games for Borussia Dortmund, which is an unbelievable return for a 21-year-old.
Where the striker ends up is yet to be decided, but the transfer will not be easy for any club that chooses to go all-in for him.
