Big things really do come in small packages. Minisforum **MS-A2** has been launched, a 1.78-liter mini server powered by AMD’s Ryzen 9 9955HX — a 16-core Zen 5 beast that was previously exclusive to premium laptops. This is workstation-class compute in a chassis smaller than most hardcover books.

## Small Box, Serious Workload

The MS-A2 isn’t trying to be a budget mini PC — it’s gunning for homelab builders, content creators, and network administrators who need real muscle without a tower. The **dual 10G SFP+ ports** alone set it apart from anything in this size class, making it a natural fit for high-speed NAS setups and virtualization stacks.

Cooling has been a point of concern with past Minisforum models, but the MS-A2 addresses that directly — three pure copper heat pipes, turbine fans with 30% improved airflow, and phase-change thermal material keep the 9955HX running at a sustained 100W TDP. That’s genuinely impressive for a form factor this compact.

The PCIe x16 slot adds serious flexibility — you can drop in a discrete GPU for edge AI inference or media encoding tasks. As TechnoSports has noted, the mini server category is rapidly becoming a legitimate desktop alternative for power users.
