Remember when Tumblr, American Apparel, and Arcade Fire ruled the world? Netflix is about to take you right back there. *Mile End Kicks*, the acclaimed indie rom-com that had festival audiences swooning, is finally streaming — and it’s a love letter to a very specific, very nostalgic era of music and youth.

## What Is ‘Mile End Kicks’ About?

Written and directed by Chandler Levack (*I Like Movies*), the film follows 24-year-old music critic Grace Pine, who heads to Montreal in 2011 planning to write a book about Alanis Morissette’s *Jagged Little Pill*. Instead, she falls in with a scrappy local indie band, becomes their publicist, and finds herself tangled in a messy romantic triangle — all while trying to find her own voice in a male-dominated music scene.
