Arsenal have had a relatively quiet summer so far, only confirming the arrival of Nuno Tavares from Benfica so far. But, Mikel Arteta is going to be backed with funds in the weeks to come as he reportedly has five positions he’d like to strengthen, and has outlined the top targets as well.
Firstly, Aaron Ramsdale from Sheffield United is being targeted to compete with Bernd Leno for game time. Ramsdale conceded 39 goals in 38 games for the Blades last season, as they were sent back down to the Championship. The club could look to sell Ramsdale to raise funds, and Arsenal are on the lookout if that opportunity arises.
Next, Ruben Neves from Wolves is being eyed as a partner for Thomas Partey in midfield. Arsenal spotting director Edu is reportedly in talks with his agent, Jorge Mendes, to bring the Portuguese international to the Emirates. The London club are also in the market for a number 10 following the return of Martin Odegaard to Real Madrid.
Hector Bellerin is expected to leave the club this summer, with Inter Milan being linked as a potential destination for the Spaniard. Should that move go through, Arsenal will look to sign Max Aarons of Norwich City, who has been scouted by numerous clubs in England and abroad.Â
Last, but not least, Arsenal are on the verge of completing the transfer of Ben White from Brighton for £50 million. The Gunners are a man light in defense following the departure of David Luiz, and Ben White is seen as the future of the defense alongside Gabriel.
