Mikayil Faye is set to sign for Ligue 1 club Rennes on a permanent deal from Barcelona. The youngster will make the move for an initial €12.5 million, with a 25% sell-on clause included in the deal.
Barcelona have also negotiated a €35 million optional buyback clause in the future, meaning they can re-sign the defender in the future by paying the aforementioned fee. The medical tests will be scheduled for the youngster in the coming days, and he will be officially announced as a new signing upon the completion of the formalities.

The youngster joined Barcelona last summer from Croatian side NK Kustosija for a small fee. He went on to make 35 appearances for the youth team across all competitions and scored four goals.
He managed to train with the first team, but was never handed his debut for the senior team. And now, he will be moving on to earn more playing time in spite of having three years left on his deal.
Barcelona have recently had to let go of Sergi Roberto, Ilkay Gundogan, Oriol Romeu and Marcos Alonso owing to their financial difficulties. They were also unable to get back Joao Felix and Cancelo after their loan spells and are now selling Mikayil Faye to clear out their books further.
